This is a picture of how I feel after today: (please excuse the nasty looking hair and face…I just got back from the gym)

Let me just tell you about the past 24 hours…mmmmk? Well, last night I got online to print out my schedule and I find that I have no classes and I am apparently not registered for classes this semester. After a slight freak out, I look and see that I have a WAY outstanding balance for my tuition. But, the funny thing is, I paid my tuition at 11:06 PM on 12/28/06. It was due by 5:00 on 1/6/07. Hmmm…fishy. So I find the receipt they emailed me, printed it out and though, yeah, they will definitely fix this. BOY WAS I WRONG. I went to student accounts and showed them my receipt and they said, you should have paid your tuition on time. So I said…LOOK AT THE DATE!! It says 12/28. And she said “hmmm. Well, good luck trying to get back into your classes, I will call you.” OH NO SHE DID NOT! Oh…she did. So I went to try and get back in my classes and there was one class I couldn’t get back in to, so I went to talk to an advisor and she said “next semester you should get your tuition paid on time.” Seriously? Did 2 people just say that to me after I ALREADY explained that I paid and I received a receipt from GSU? I mean…HELLO! So…3 hours later…the student accounts lady called me back and said, “i know you got a receipt and all, but you did not pay.” And I said, “well, yes I did. It shows on my credit card statement that I paid on the 28th and posted on the 2nd.” And she says, “well, then I need to see that.” So I bring her the statement (online statement as the period does not end until the 26th of January) and she says, “I see the payment on here, but we have no record of it and no official documents to prove you paid it.” And I’m like “ummm…what about the receipt you emailed me that I brought in that says my payment was approved and also that credit card statement you have there in your hand?” And she’s like, “I need to talk to my boss.”

So…that’s how my day ended. Awesome.

WHAT THE HECK?!?!?!? Sometimes I wish I knew how to lay the schmack down because today just consisted of sheer disbelief when interacting with the employees of GSU. FOR THE LOVE.
