my soul is stirring
God has been stirring up my heart lately. I have been wondering so many things, and I just know these are things God wants me to be passionate about…His people.
Did you know 27 million people are enslaved today?In my women’s studies class we are watching a movie called Trade . It is about human trafficking. I worked at an event about a year ago called do.justice and it was an event exposing Atlanta singles to the reality of human trafficking. Did you know Atlanta is one of the top 5 cities for human trafficking and trade? That is appalling.
This movie has really been nudging at my heart this week. Yes, I have known about the problem for over a year, and it messed with my head for awhile and then I forgot about it, sadly, but something in me feels the urge and passion to ACT…now. I don’t know how, I don’t know why, but I do. I know a lot of incredible organizations that are working to stop this disgusting trade that is happening all over the world, and starting now, I am going to commit to pray for those organizations.
My prayer is that they can find these women and men who have been traded and set them free, get them counseling, and give them the freedom they deserve. My prayer is to capture the people who are doing this to innocent people. And my prayer is that Jesus will capture the heart of every single person affected by this…that their souls will be alive in Him. I don’t know what is next for me, and I don’t know if this is something I will ever be directly involved with, but I know I can pray, and that alone can move mountains.
