6 months and a mountain getaway!
Chris and I decided to take advantage of having a weekend off and going to North Carolina to celebrate our 6 month anniversary. It was a MUCH needed time away. Chris is off on Fridays, so although we usually get to spend the whole day together since I work from home on Fridays, we actually got to hang out on Friday since I took the day off! So we packed up the car (and the dog…can’t imagine traveling with kids…that was a lot of crap to pack up!) and drove up to North Carolina on Thursday night after work. Friday we slept in (if you could 8:00 as sleeping in…seriously, why can’t we sleep later than that?!) then we went into the little downtown part of Hendersonville and had lunch and shopped a bit. Then we went back to the house and went down to the basement (with blackout shades…) and took a LONG nap. Saturday we laid around all morning then went to Asheville to explore. Turned out to be a bad day for exploration since it rained ALL DAY and was SO COLD, but we had a yummy lunch (and custard…) explored more shops, then headed home for another nap (and watching stick it…) in the basement! It was a really great weekend and it was so good just to take a break from the craziness of life, work, church, etc. We definitely want to make it a habit to take long weekends whenever we can!
