leaving…kind of.
One thing that has really struck me as of late is how sad I am to be “leaving” our church family (not for a year, mind you), but still. I have really gotten connected to so many people at our church and I am going to miss seeing them every week at church and other events. Coming to Cumberland was a HUGE transition for me, I left a church that I had been deeply rooted in since 8th grade – that’s a long time! So, now, here we go again.
All of this to day…I am sad we are “leaving” but I couldn’t be more excited about what’s next. As we gather our core group of people and other approach us about joining, I am continually shocked at those who say they are all in. People who are deeply rooted at Cumberland, people who are deeply rooted at their own churches…and people who aren’t invested anywhere. That says a lot. I am so excited to see these relationships grow deeper, see who God has in store for this amazing church, and to see the people that are impacted because of these relationships.
I am also amazed at the people who want to help. I would say at least 3 times a week I have a conversation with someone who asks how things are going and what they can do to help. Be it offering their services to build out whatever space we might be using, offer their time, offer prayers, or offer financial support…talk about an overwhelming amount of people embracing Chris and I with this INTENSE thing that God has given us responsibility for.
I am excited to see what’s next, I am excited to see WHO is going to be a part of this…and I can’t wait to see what God does in this journey!
I’d love to hear your thoughts…how are you going to be joining us on this journey?
