thankful.
I wasn’t going to do this, but…I decided why not? I always read these and love reading them, but when I thought of doing my own I thought it was so cheesy! So, I am going to list out 10 things I am thankful for….certainly there are many more things I am thankful for, these are just the ones I am thinking of right now!
1. My relationship with the Lord. The past few months He has really been speaking to me and moving in my spirit. It’s amazing to me that even in times where I am straying in my walk with Him, He pursues me with fierceness. Humbling.
2. My precious husband, Chris. Wow, I could not have been blessed with a more perfect match. He knows how to love me. I never doubt that my husband loves me and for that I am so thankful. Not to mention, he is a great cook and so good at folding laundry!!
3. My incredible family! I have an AMAZING family! So thankful to live in the same city as my sisters and parents and having the opportunity to see them several times a month. I love watching my sisters kids grow up and getting to be such a big part of their lives. I am thankful all of the stupid sisterly fights growing up don’t hold us back from being so close now.
4. Friends. Man, I have been blessed with incredible friends. I am thankful for women who know my heart and know what speaks to me. God has truly blessed me with incredible friends.
5. My job! I LOVE my job and the women I work with. I can’t imagine ever working in another environment and I know I am VERY lucky to be in a situation where I love what I do and I adore the people I work with. I look forward to starting my days, don’t dread Mondays and don’t live for the weekends…it is a VERY good place to be!
6. My home. I love that we have been blessed with a home. I love that we have made it a place that represents who we are and are able to entertain our friends and family. I am thankful we have a place to do that and hope our home is a place of comfort and rest to those who come through.
7. My pup, Jack! Even though he woke me up this morning my barfing right by my head, I am so thankful for him! I love that he is so excited to see us when we come home and that we are able to give him a good home. I love having a dog, and Jack is the perfect dog for us!!
8. Health. I am thankful that I am healthy and have the ability to exercise and live an active life. I LOVE exercising and I am thankful I have the ability to do so daily!!
9. The opportunity to start Resonate. Man, we have a long road ahead of us, and it’s already been such an emotional journey, but I am so thankful the Lord has given us the INCREDIBLE opportunity to plant this church in our city. I can’t wait to see leaders rise up around this city and restoration to happen in the hearts of people who have been burned by the Church.
10. Our church, Cumberland Community Church. Wow, what an amazing blessing. Not only does CCC provide us a job, but we have met incredible friends there that are a huge support system to us. I am thankful we were able to find a church that we love and look forward to attending and serving in.
That’s just a quick list of some things I am thankful for right now…and wow, how humbled I am that I have so much to be thankful for. I know the holidays can be hard for a lot of people and stir up wounds from the past, but I want to encourage you this week to focus on the blessings in your life. If you are someone who is struggling this season, I need you to know that there is a God out there who thinks the world of you and died for YOU. Even if that is not something you believe, I pray that the reality of that statement will become very real to you this holiday season. Be thankful for that. You are loved.
