Books You Should Read
Hello there! I am stealing this idea from my sister, Kelly, however, I am putting my own spin on it. You see, I love to read. I read A LOT, however, my approach to reading is a bit different than hers. She reads to learn (yawn)…I read to escape and be entertained. If you just linked to her blog you will see that she has posted her reading list for 2011 and that she also recommends these to you. Since I do not plan these kinds of things ahead, I am going to give you a list of books I have already read and think you should read. Please note, I do not choose books on topic, I typically choose on 3 factors: (a) if I like the cover (specifically if it’s pink); (b) if I like the title; (c) if I like the author. So, enjoy.
1 – The Twilight Saga – Stephenie Meyer – I vowed I would NEVER read these books, but when my sisters and mom started reading I decided to give it a go and I WAS HOOKED. I read all 4 books in less than 2 weeks. They. Are. Amazing.
2- The LA Candy Series - Lauren Conrad – she was on Laguna Beach and The Hills and is now a fiction writer…why would I NOT read her books?!
3- Heart of the Matter - Emily Giffin – her books all deal with cheating for some reason, but they always end so well. I love all of her books!!
4 – Last Night at Chateau Marmont – Lauren Weisberger – the author of “The Devil Wears Prada” writes another great one!
5 – Mini Shopaholic – Sophie Kinsella – if you are a fan of these books this one continues with the hilarity! If you are not a fan, I suggest starting with “Confessions of a Shopaholic” and reading all of them…hilarious!!
6 – A Hopeless Romantic – Harriet Evans
7 – Always the Bridesmaid – Whitney Lyles
8 – Here Comes the Bride – Whitney Lyles
9 – Roomates – Whitney Lyles
10 – Above the Line Series – Karen Kingsbury – I LOVE all things Karen!!!!
I do realize posting this list makes me look very shallow, but…I just love reading these fun reads on road trips, at the beach, etc! If you are looking for some other great books that might intellectually stimulate you:
1. Crush It – Gary Vaynerchuck
2. Born to Run – Christopher McDougall
3. The E-Myth Revisited – Michael E. Gerber
4. Eat that Frog – Brian Tracy
