Weigh-In Wednesday

This was an interesting week! Now, some of this may be TMI for some of you, but, it’s my blog and it’s not TMI for me, so I am sharing! I was doing really, really well sticking to my caloric range, then I had a few days where I got very, very busy and just missed some meals. Usually this wouldn’t be a huge deal (still not good, I try to eat every 3 ish hours), but since I am nursing it turned out to be a big deal. On Sunday I noticed that my milk supply had GREATLY decreased which is not a good thing, because that means that I did NOT have a happy baby, so I had to really bring in a higher amount of calories (and TONS of water) these past 3 days in order to try and surge my milk supply. Thankfully everything seems back to normal, but I was bummed because I had seen a big drop on the scale on Friday (I know I shouldn’t weigh myself everyday…) and it just wasn’t as dramatic this morning.…

Other Updates: I am feeling so so great this week! I had a BIG NSV (non-scale victory) in that I put on all of my pre-pregnancy jeans and they all fit!! Wahooo!! Now, mind you, they were pretty tight and I am not going to wear them quite yet, but it made me feel really great that they all buttoned. We are headed out of town next week for a few days so I won’t be able to weigh-in, but I am going to try really hard to keep my eating pretty clean!…

New Fitness Journey

Well, I decided to blog about this because I feel like it will hold me more accountable than just doing it on my own! I am DONE with carrying this extra weight around from pregnancy! I gained less than 30 lbs in my pregnancy but my body is just holding onto the last 13 pounds and not wanting to let it go (errrr….update, just weighed myself after the holidays…now we’re holding on to 18 lbs!). I have to admit, I haven’t been very disciplined in my eating and have been even less disciplined in my workouts – I think I expected nursing to help me just bounce back to normal, buuuut, that did not happen…shocker. :)

I decided last week that I am done complaining about my body and I need to DO something! So starting on Monday I am starting a new 90 day workout program and nutrition regimen, it is called Les Mills PUMP and it is the home version of the BodyPump classes!…

The honor is all mine…

I have to admit, when I was pregnant I was absolutely terrified of being a mom. When you are pregnant people have absolutely no boundaries (which drove me nuts…) and seem to tell  you only the negative about being a parent. I got comments all the time telling me how I was never going to sleep well again, I was never going to get to do anything fun or on my own, the first year is soooo miserable, nursing is awful, blah blah blah. It really blew my mind that the majority of people would tell a pregnant woman how apparently horrible my life was going to be instead of just celebrating and being excited for me . Comments like those and just the general realization about what was about to happen made me very, very nervous for Elliot to be born. Almost daily I would ask Chris “what happens if I don’t love her?” or “what if I hate being a mom and just want my old life back?” I was genuinely concerned.…

it’s been awhile!

it’s been awhile!

whelp, it’s been quite awhile since I posted! My blog was broken for several weeks which {partially} explains the lack of posting. The other lack of posting is due to the fact that I have a sweet, precious new baby!!

On September 20 we welcomed Elliot Louise Case into our family, and it has been such an amazing journey. She is such a sweet baby girl with such a sweet spirit…and she really loves sleeping {just like her mommy}, which makes things much, much easier around here. I took 6 weeks of maternity leave, but I stayed pretty plugged in at work while enjoying lots of snuggles with Elliot and lots of fun lunches with my mom and sisters. I have been back to work for 2 weeks now and am so, SO thankful to be in a job where I get to stay home with my girl. I honestly don’t know if I could have left her 40 hours a week.…

Ok, you saw the inspiration pinboard, and now…months later, Baby Case’s nursery is DONE! I am SO proud of how it turned out and it’s really the first room I feel like I was able to put together start to finish.
